Pawtucket School Girls

I think because it is important for me to document my family through my scrapbooking, it tears me apart whenever I find old photos, especially those with names on them. I try to find direct descendants of these people in the photographs, to put them back in the hands of family, but seldom do. Many I scrap, as I feel so bad about their stories being lost.

Journaling reads: Classmate photos from the year 1900, Pawtucket, Rhode Island. An era so different than today - so hard to imagine life back then. These photos not in the hands of family, but part of my collection. I adore researching their names and lives, hoping to have their memories live on. I am lucky to know these five women, looking so much older than 14 to 16 years old in these school photographs. Their dress so similar - white ruffles, with high necklines. I can only hope that their descendants have many photographs of them, cherishing them as much as I do these 5 women born in the 1880's.

The Process: Although I used a good many kits, the process was just a matter of using Annas template and applying different papers and textures to the layers of the template. I copies a frame to make space for the 5 young girls. I began gathering elements that would fit with with a heritage page. I placed the layers of lace and the tape measure Stitched LoopDaLoops and the doily transfers behind the photos, and then began layering the buttons and such above the photos on the lower right. The template had a FotoGlow, but I added additional glows from the WarmGlows No. 6. The StriptTease brushes were used throughout, and I finished up with the new Stained Edge Overlay.

***thanks for looking***
