Cricket happened across us when we were visiting my parents in Alabama. She and her two sisters bounded up the driveway, and attached themselves to us. We immediately fell in love with Cricket, and flew her home to California with us. She was about 6 months old, and I feel someone dumped her at my parents home, in hopes they would be taken care of. We are so very lucky she found us. This is a photo of my dd with Cricket. She has been taking Cricket to the beach this summer, and she is seeming to enjoy her time there.
Journaling reads: We thought it would be too difficult to own a dog in California, but then our paths crossed, and we couldnt leave her behind. Now we look at her each day and wonder how we could live our lives without her.

The Process: I began with an Artsy paper from ArtPlay Palette Sea Life. I added the FotoBlendz, and clipped the photograph to it. I placed the FotoBlendz on Blend Mode Color Burn. This lightened the photo, so I duplicated the photo, detached it from the FotoBlendz, and painted out all but my daughter and Cricket, keeping it on Normal Mode, but bringing down the opacity a bit. I added a 6 x 6 ArtsyKard under the photo, added a layer mask, and painted out the edges of the card. I placed the ArtsyKard on Blend Mode Darken to allow the Artsy Paper behind it to show through. I added the Thin Strips Masks, changing their color and blend mode, and used them to create rectangle frame around the photo. I added the scribbled frame and the LoopDaLoop. The bracket was added, changing the paper layer to the aqua, but I also attached a striped paper to it as well, using blend mode Multiply. I added the Dog WordART and journaling to the left of the bracket. I finished up added layers of 3 edge overlays, changing their colors and blend modes. I added the shell brushwork from ArtPlay Mermaid on the lower edges of the page. I added the starfish, and the blue sparkle behind it at the end of the LoopDaLoop. DONE!!!
