Process:
Don't you just love when a product can remind you of a story you might have overlooked in your memory keeping. Well that's exactly what that cute little donut included in the Living Well AP did for me. I probably never would have thought of scrapbooking about our family's visit to a new donut shop in our town but I'm glad I did! Because these donuts are not only the most photogenic donuts I've ever seen but they were also pretty yummy!
To make this page I rotated the paperie I chose for my background and cropped it down to 8.5 x 11, then I created a large clipping mask for my photo which I wanted to spanned my page. Then I used these donuts in a fun way by positioning them so they were running off the page and using a deep shadow behind them. And then used a few pieces of ephemera and some word labels to finish embellishing.
I created my own word sticker for the word designer in my title by selecting the word and expanding the selection and then filling it with white on another layer just beneath the text layer. Then I dialed back the opacity and used a very slight shadow on the white fill layer to create my sticker. I paired my sticker with this silver glitter alpha--one of my faves!
With my photo I tried out a black and white version, but I really liked be able to see the different color frosting and such but at full strength the photo and the page was just a little bit much. So I adjusted the lightness of my photo for this faded look, which I think still shows off all of the great details but in a subtle way that fits a little better with my page.
