Techniques

1. I started with the picture of the rooster and this fabulous tutorial written by Marleen: http://annaaspnes.typepad.com/anna/2013/03/tutorial-create-art-using-artsykardz.html
When I was finished the layout with the rooster had a white background.

2. I flattened all layers and clipped the layout on the egg-template.

3. I put a (re-colored) ArtsyPaper behind the egg, and changed the overlay-mode of the egg to soft light. I copied the layers of the egg and the rooster once: and changed the overlay mode of this second egg to linear burn.

4. Last step: I put a rectangle-sized transfer between the background and the egg/rooster and changed the blending-mode of that transfer to color. Thats a surprise: it turned grey except for the part where the rooster is!
