RACING AGAIN (pretty awesome)
This layout was inspired by the current AnnaLift https://ozone.oscraps.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=281142. What a gorgeous layout. I especially loved the black and white, thin frames and the horizontal strip composed of various transfers!
The 2013 racing season officially started on Saturday, with the Polar Bear Regatta. It really was great fun to be back at the river, watching the kids race. I think the parents were just as excited about it as the kids. Since there were no finals, they only raced one time. My son's boat won their heat, but would likely have lost to the winner of the other heat. Looking forward to a fun season!

Process
My process was really just one of trying various things until I got an effect I liked. I really liked the idea of using so much the new ArtPlay Palette Magic Rabbit for a layout about high school crew. There are no rabbits anywhere on this layout.
It just shows how versatile Anna's products really are.
I built a horizontal strip with a multitude of transfers & blending modes from several APP's. Magic Rabbit Transfer 2 was doubled and rotated and then used as the photo mask. I also used that transfer in another area of the horizontal strip and also in a small size under the journaling. I clipped the blue paper to Magic Rabbit Overlay 2 which added some blue polka dot areas peaking through. I copied Magic Rabbit Transfer 7, with blending modes Color Burn over Overlay. I repeated this group 2 more times to create a visual triangle to add some contrasting visual interest in the strip. I used several glows to brighten up areas of the strip.
When I clipped the photo to the transfer, I lost some of the boat image. I used the Magic Wand tool to extract the black areas of the boat and repeated that as a layer over the clipped photo (blending mode Pin Light). I also extracted the oar handle and placed it over the frame to add a little dimension.
