Process:
I wanted this page to be about True Love--the kind that is always growing and looking into the future...not dwelling on the past.
I used a large soft brush and a layer mask to preform the extraction on this photo of my SIL & BIL. And then stroked the layer to make sure I got all of the stray pixels. Then I added a soft yet deep shadow and decreased the opacity of the photo to add a bit of depth.
In this photo they were originally looking back at the temple in which they were married but I wanted it to appear that they were looking into the unforeseeable future so I used a frame within a frame to create a slight tunnel effect and then filled the hole in the frame with a glow and heart bokeh.
My final idea was to have it appear as though their image was casting the shadow of my title "True Love" so using techniques I learned in Jana Morton's BluePrints class I played around with the angles of the text and chose fonts/colors that I felt echoed both my SIL and BIL's image--an elegant smaller font for true in a light blue to compliment my SIL's femininity and the blue cast on her dress in the photo and then a bold font in a dark charcoal for my brother in law.
