I'm not sure how these cookies got their name, but they are absolutely delicious!
recipe:
1 cup Crisco
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
1 cup oatmeal
1 cup coconut
2 cups chocolate chips
1. Cream together Crisco, brown sugar, white sugar, and vanilla.
2. Beat in 2 eggs until smooth.
3. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and soda.
4. Beat flour mixture into creamed mixture until smooth
5. Add oatmeal, coconut, and chocolate chips.
6. Bake at 375 about 12 minutes or until brown
