Process:
I wanted to record these photos that I snapped of my son's room as we were leaving for the hospital--partly because I wanted to record the moment and partly because it was the first things I'd ever felt 100% ready for in my life and I wanted to record that feeling of being finished--not leaving something until the last minute...as proof you might say
Unfortunately I used an old cell phone to snap them and so the quality was not great so I tried out a technique that lightened them giving them a pastel sort of effect like that of the watercolor grey strokes that were included with this template.
To do so I first went into Hue and Saturation and colorized them and then desaturated them so that they were colored to match the artstroke on my page near perfectly. Then I adjusted the lightness in the same window to give them a bit of haze and finally I added a slight blur to mask the pixelation while completing this soft and dreamy look.
While this effect does mask some of the details in the photos these were details that were already lost because of the original quality of the photos and I think it helped to mask this while adding to the overall feel of the page and supporting my story.
