Footprints on Our Hearts

Journal reads:
When we found you on the side walk, you were barely alive. We took you home and gave you love and try our best to make you feel better. I went across the world looking for help because I didn't know how to do it alone. I took care of you day and night and had very little sleep. I skipped a trip with the family because I didn't want to leave you alone. The day you perched on my hand was a proud day for me. We built a huge cage for you so you would be comfortable. You gained strength and even tested your wings.

The morning of July 12, 3:30am you saw me and for the first time opened your mouth for feeding. I was like a proud mummy, so happy with you. But after you ate the food, you choked and died in my hands. The very hands that fed you! It was so quick, I didn't know what to do. I grieve for you because I wanted you to get well and fly free. I feel so guilty even though many told me it wasn't my fault, that I've tried my best. If I could hold you again in my hands and let you know how much you have captured my heart.... FLY FREE my little friend. I love you so much and miss you and I take comfort that you are in Heaven's garden.

Wow!!! The journaling is amazing. I felt as if I were there watching it all happen. Beautiful photo! Love the pussy willows around the edge of the photo.

Aw, this makes me want to cry - I had a little bird like that named Freddie and he hurt his leg and ended up dying...I know how sad it is to have a little bird pass way like that...
