I couldn't decide which of Anna's templates to work with this week, so I used parts of 3 page layouts to make this two-page spread. In December of 2011, I grew my first amaryllis and documented it with quite a few photos. The Month Review template seemed like a great way to showcase the story.
Journaling: What is the attraction of an amaryllis at Christmastime? To find out, I grew one in 2011. As part of my December Daily project, I took a photo of it nearly every day. Thinking back on it now, it strikes me how closely it mirrors the whole process of December. Quiet as a mouse, it grows more every day - just as we bring out a bit more of our beloved Christmas traditions and decor every day. With a BIG FINISH, it explodes into the most gigantic and gorgeous bloom you can imagine. You marvel at its beauty and the magic that created it. Within a week, you are ready to put it away with the rest of the decorations, but the magic remains to be discovered again another year.
