A few years back when my daughter was a broke college student and moving from one location to another, but had not yet worked out all the details for the new location, and was spending the majority of her hours in class, at the library or at work, she thought it was the 'perfect' time to get a 'free' puppy! Now we all know there is no such thing as a 'free' puppy (food, tags, collar, shots, check-ups, and plenty of replacing things that puppy chews up!) and as a parent we know that puppies are comparable to two-year-olds on a sugar high! After 20-some years of parenting I've learned to pick my battles and decided to let this one slide...............puppy was going to do all the dirty work for me!!

Three years later she still has the 'pup' and loves Parker dearly. She has also learned:
1. There is no such thing as a 'free' puppy.
2. Caring for another creature requires plenty of sacrifice and responsibility.

I love a happy ending when the mother is right!!
