Journaling reads: Heading down to the San Diego Zoo for the day, we noticed some sort of activity set up in the park beside the zoo. Upon investigation we realized it was a Renaissance Faire. Having a season pass to the zoo, we decided instead to check out the Faire.
We had never experience a Faire, and were fascinated by all the activities. Rachel loves her collection of figures of knights, ladies and horses all dressed in armor, so she was quite excited to go to the Faire. From time to time, Kings, Queens, Ladies, Knights, and other medieval characters would walk through, and everyone would stop to watch the procession. We watched Knights fight with their swords, maces and battle axes. As we explored the booths, we came across one with armor and chainmail. To Rachels surprise, they let her try it on. She told me she had not expected it to feel so heavy, and she said that knights had to be very strong to wear this and all their armor. It was a wonderful day, and although we didnt go to the zoo, we knew we could go next week.
