I haven't discovered a way to express humidity, but most of our 2012 fall visit to Pittsburgh felt like we were living in the tropics. We took Avery and Gavin for a boat tour on the three rivers, and enjoyed it despite the humidity and heat. It was Gavin's last day of being four. Toward the end of the tour, he smashed his finger in one of the heavy doors. Poor little guy. It was really painful, but he was relatively brave.
One of the highlights of the day was seeing the carp, which thronged at our feet as we crossed to the boat dock. So in addition to cold drinks purchased on the boat, we bought some popcorn with the intention of saving some to feed the fish, ducks, and geese when we were leaving. With one of his overhand tosses, Gavin accidentally bumped Dave, knocking his glasses off. We were thankful that they didn't fall in the water.
