Guardastelle is a delightful little guesthouse, tucked away in the hills, amongst the olive trees and grapevines and hidden from view by tall, thin Cyprus trees synonymous with the countryside in this part of Tuscany, northern Italy. We didnt actually stay here during our trip in May / June 2011, but we did visit for lunch and friends showed us around the beautiful gardens, which twist and turned in every conceivable direction, with gravel paths edged with pretty lavender bushes and tumbling herbs that released their delicious aromas when trodden on.
