Olympic Games Welcome Home
On August 13, 2004, began at the Olympic Stadium in Athens the XXVIII (28th) Modern Olympic Games. Greece, 108 years after the organization of the first Modern Olympics in 1896, was for the second time the host city. I am proud because I helped my country in this great event. I was one of the 45,000 volunteers, one of those marvelous volunteers who have charmed people with their confidence and kindness. My position was in the Accreditation Hall of the officials in the Goudi Olympic Complex, where became the games of the
Modern Pentathlon. The games were successful, despite the global criticism because of severe delays in the construction of the venues. This criticism has resulted in an unexplained boycott of the games, which is against the Olympic spirit.
Today, eight years later, I can say that I am happy for my participation, I am happy because "I was there, too" in those "UNFORGETABLE, DREAM GAMES"
