(Women first competed in the Olympics in 1900, but not in basketball until 1976. My grandmother was ahead of her time)

It seems incredible that this photo was taken 100 years ago when my Grandmother Lenore, was the captain of the 1912 Girls Basketball Team of Summerville Union High School in Tuolumne, California. Team members
from left) Isadore Shurtz (grandmas best friend), Gertrude Sullivan, Violet Palmer, Lenore McCormick, Marie Barnett and Inez Scheer. Their high-neck uniforms maintained propriety by not revealing too much. Love those big bows in their hair!
