We spent the morning of Victoria's 30th birthday party checking the weather apps and hoping for some dry weather. By 3.30 pm we took a leap of faith and decorated the beer garden where Victoria's party was to be held; the staff offered to move us inside because of the forecasted rain but fortune favours the bold, as Colin says and the sun came out for Victoria arriving and continued to shine until a shower at around 8 pm. Victoria's work colleagues just put up their brollys and continued eating cake and drinking pimms - got to love summer in the city 2012 style! :)
