There's a sad song singing in my mind,
you give me wings to fly, yet I feel so blind.
Taken in day by day,
I let these fears tear me away.
The rain slides down the window pane,
silent tears they weep in vain
if only they could see me now,
I'm holding on just so, but how
will I face the early morning sun
assuming that tomorrow comes
but for one lonely man in the dark
a glass of wine, guitar and solemn spark
a love that grows so warm and dear.
Precariously she pauses near
and says the words I need to hear.
"I love you so, you make whole,
my love my life, my heart you stole."
Those perfect words her soul did craft
yet here I sit still feeling daft,
the sad song still sings in my mind
but I pull her to me, a kiss I find
will put the cares and woes away,
I'll sift through them another day.
