This cool train shot was taken in Kentucky and Chris's beautiful page made me realize if I could 'make the time' to travel across the U.S.A. and many other countries throughout the world that it would be by train. I can think of no other way to relax and quietly enjoy all the beautiful views as they roll by my window. (Id want a comfy seat with a large window and plenty of fun people to travel with and wouldnt mind the idea of meeting up with a few old and new friends along the way.)

I added one more step with this particular photo and duplicated the second photo layer one more time and applied the color burn blending mode and decreased opacity slightly. Then I clipped a Vellum Sheet to the top photo layer and played with the blending modes and found vellum also tweaked the colors here and in the photo.just another fun detail to try.

Nice addition to the tut. I've been blessed to travel by train to and from Montana a few times, and once from Seattle to LA (with a sleeper). It was soooooo wonderful. Wish we could afford to travel that way every time. I adore trains...love the ride...love the sounds...even love the food...and there is NOTHING like being rocked to sleep on a train. This LO just brings all those memories welling up. Beautiful.

This is so pretty! Thanks for sharing your tweaks to Irene's amazing technique. Your picture is beautiful! I've only been on commuter trains, but have always thought they would make a great way to travel around the country. The song "City of New Orleans" always makes train travel sound so romantic to me. :)
