Journaling reads: I would have given anything to have been sitting next to this young man - my father. I never knew of his young years. He was not a young man when he married and was 47 when I was born. As a child, I would have never been able to know this man as he was so very quiet. He hardly ever spoke. Seeing this photograph of him so young reminds me of the line from Field of Dreams that brings a tear to my eye each time I watch the movie - Id only seen him years later when he was worn down by life. Look at him. Hes got his whole life in front of him and Im not even a glint in his eye I hear that line, and immediately think of my dad.

Joanie, you have a way of bringing the viewer RIGHT INTO the story--with words and art! So sad you couldn't have known this young man. You've scrapped this with heart!
To bad you didn't know your dad when he was younger, but this is a great memorie. Love the b&w pages. And this photo is stunning. He looks so happy and relaxed.
