In the door-yard fronting an old farm-house, near the white-washd palings,

Journaling: Growing up in Connecticut I have wonderful memories of the lilacs bushes in our yard, and the wondeful scent they had. It saddens me that Poway does not have enough frost days for them to grow here. I cherish the blooms that I see each spring at Pattis in Ramona, as they do get more frost.
