nothing lasts forever

this is another page for my 52 stories project.
i tried it once a year ago, it was easier today.

Journaling: I woke up this morning feeling out of sorts. I decided to look through your recipes and make something. I hadnt handled these pages in over eleven years, as they had been in storage. I sat and looked at all the recipes your hand had lovingly written out for me. Touching them was like touching you. I decided to make Passover eggs. I had been to the market the day before and the man in produce was putting out a fresh batch of onions. I asked him for the extra skins thinking how lucky I was to be there at that time. As I lay the last egg in the pot, Erin called. She told me you had died. I covered the eggs for the long twelve hour cooking process, sat down and cried. Nothing lasts forever, you used to say. To which I would respond, except you. I guess we were both right. You are no longer with me in some ways, but in others you will live on forever. Journaled March 16, 2011.

Thanks for looking :)
This is just beautiful! Your journalling is fantastic and I love the clean and simple focus.

What a lovely tribute to your mom! I still after 25 years miss my mom so much and my thoughts are with you. My gran used to color eggs with onion skins and that also brings back precious memories of my gran who I adored. Your journaling is just so special and I like to think they are watching over us from above. Hugs going your way.
