Here's my entry for DigiDare # 267 to scrap something from our youth that we are passing on to our kids.
Journaling reads:
As a child I loved musicals, like Oliver!, Cats, and as I got older Grease, Jesus Christ Superstar and Rocky Horror, but my all time favourite was Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat. I loved to sing along, as did Em (who had a much better voice than me) and manys the long ride between the Richmond and Hyde Park stables that wed sing our way through an entire musical.
Now my children are beginning to show an interest. They sing along with gusto to Oliver!, Grease is adored and we have a really poor movie version of Joseph, but the songs are still fabulous. I havent, youll be pleased to note, introduced them to the raunchiness of Rocky Horror just yet! And best of all, Ginny is enjoying learning to play several songs brilliant for a family sing along reminds me so much of my own childhood.
