the FOOD always turns out great. we had a small WIGILIA, just XXX and i and XXX. fried fish, mushrooms, pirohi, sauerkraut two ways, sauerkraut and dried mushroom soup, Gramma Sophie potatoes, veggies, salad, Slivovitz, wine. the food on Christmas Day has always been my attempt at recreating Grammy XXX Christmas Roast Beast, gravy, coleslaw, roasted potatoes and sweet potatoes, my homemade bread, tons of veggies. this year i made TWO giant standing rib roasts. Joyce made her broccoli casserole, and Lorraine was assigned the buying of dessert, which turned out to be Giant Eagle cookies. glad that i had made some buckeyes, chocolate-covered pretzels and, for the first time, chocolate-covered Oreo Triple-Doubles. everyone seemed to enjoy the food. i, on the other hand, got instant diarrhea when i was breading the fish for Wigilia. ALLERGY-related?? who knows. but i ate some green beans and a bit of sauerkraut for that dinner and that was it. XXX and Sam and their antics spoiled Christmas dinner for me. i drank a lot instead.
