Journaling: Almost every day, Olivia comes home with scrunched up papers in her pockets. When I smooth those papers out, I usually find the beginnings of a story. She has a gift. If she knew I saved all those stories, shed be mad. She would tell me that I had done something wrong. But how can I throw them away or leave them to get lost in the jumble of our lives? I love reading these stories and, hopefully, someday Olivia will be happy that I saved them.

and here is part of one of the stories on the page: We gotta get going if we are gonna make it to the ravines, said a man called Will. Liz, his wife, pushed him back into the seat. I dont think youre going without me. Did you? She snickered. Her voice sounded all too smooth. Will gave a sarcastic grin, pushing her hand off his arched shoulder. He stood up and said, Yes. Liz narrowed her hazel brown eyes. She humphed and flipped her head around stomping out of the darkly lit room. The men laughed and Will held up a hand for silence. He cleared his throat and finished his speech. The men cheered. One man with a scar and olive skin gave a toothy smile. I will be guard. Several men argued. Holding up a hand, Will announced, Pack your things men, were heading out tonight, then left the room. He headed to the small cabin across the road. His leather boots softly crunched the leaves as he made his way across a tree covered highland. Hours seemed to go by before Will reached the cracked wooden door of his home. He walked in and packed his gear. Slapping the old green bag over his shoulder he stomped out the door. He trudged back to the gambling hall meeting up with the others.
