52.Projects No. 1 by Sue Cummings

Journaling: 2011 was a good year for us. January started off slow. Joy school, new glasses for Stevie, and a broken car were the only major activities. By February the car was fixed/we found out it wasnt broken after all, and life went full swing again. Valentines Day was a hit, as was birthdays, and Chinese New Year celebrations. We decided to go to Disneyland, and only a few weeks later, we packed up and headed to sunny So Cal! The trip was a blast even though the camera was stolen. As soon as we came home, house hunting started in earnest. March ended with Landons fifth birthday and trip to SLC to take the young women to the General Young Womens Conference. April came on strong with a lot of photo shoots for Stevie, including Petras wedding. She also cut her hair super short, a la Tangled. Spring finally came in May, and we enjoyed playing outside a little more and starting tee ball. June brought Landons Joy School graduation, and the commencement of all Summer activities. Trips to Rigby Lake, the zoo, and our activity board to keep us doing something daily. July was a lot of camping, both family and girls camp! We also enjoyed celebrating Independence Day with the Waites and a lot of fireworks at the river. In August, Landon successfully completed his first round of swimming lessons, despite his fear of water on his face. The Waites moved to Seattle, leaving a very sad Croft family behind. But in better news, we also found out baby #3 was headed our way. Stevie soon became very ill with morning sickness and life almost came to a stand still. Luckily, Landon started kindergarten to keep him entertained, and Lizzy enjoyed nonstop Sesame Street while Mommy died on the couch. In a strange turn of events, we lost the short sale home we had been trying to buy for six months, and within five days we had found and had an accepted offer on a new home we loved. Packing commenced while Stevie still lay dying on the couch. Paperwork was all signed at the end of September, and by October 1st we moved into our new home!!! Both Stevie and Nick declared they NEVER wanted to move again! Halloween came with a party and the fun of dressing up as the characters from Up. November meant more photo shoots for Stevie, as the morning sickness let up a little bit and she tried to catch up. Nick also accepted some new responsibilities at work. Thanksgiving was the most enjoyable on memory. Nick especially enjoyed his annual Black Friday shopping extravaganza. Putting up the tree in our own home was fulfilling. Christmas came faster this year than ever before, and the whole family was spoiled with way too many gifts. The year ended in Utah, where we celebrated with our dear extended family. Bring on 2012!
