At the Beach

I don't have much history on this photo. I can only guess that it is a North Carolina beach. Any beach would have been a good days drive as they lived in Gastonia, N.C. The photo is of my 2 aunts, Carolyn and Dot, and Dots 5 children. The approximate age of the children makes me think the photo was taken around 1955.

Journaling reads: "I have always loved the beach. The smell of the salty water, the wind in my face, the gentle roar of the waves all combine to create a sense of peace and calm" ~unknown

Wow - this is stunning! I love the colours, the blocking and the fabulous way you split the photo into the smaller bits.

Oh, I love how you blended pieces of the photo into the small squares - great idea!

I saw this gorgeous page this morning and am now just finally getting time to sit down and comment. LOVE the soft tones and the perfect placement of beautiful elements. Fabulous take on the challenge!

ditto to all above...this is so beautiful and intricate, I could look at it for hours!

This is fabulous! I really love your brushwork and fantastic layering under and around the photo! Those pearls are a great touch.

This is gorgeous, I love the colour combination - the faded blues with the sepia photo, and the little pearls really add that finishing touch. Into my faves.
