So I buy a pair of boots because I am going to be meeting friends in Chicago for a weekend in Feb and I wanted to be prepared for snow. I didnt love them, but the price was good and they would do. Well, it didnt snow so I decided that I would return them., I had had them almost 6 weeks, which I felt bad about, but it was still winter and we were getting an inch or more of snow twice a week or so all winter long. So I was greeted kindly by an older man when I entered the store. At least he was kind until he saw I was returning boots. His first comment to me was about how long I had had them before I returned them. I ignored the comment. He was filling out my info (I had a receipt, BTW...) and asked for my reason for return. I found a pair I liked better, I lied. His response? It would have been COURTEOUS of you to return them sooner, so I would have had a better chance to sell them. WHAT??!?!??!??!? Courteous?!! Im standing in a store mid winter looking at tables of unsold boots. When I replied that I live (no lie) in the next state and I have two small kids and not a lot of time, he responded with, Its just across the river. WHAT?!??!? Its 20 miles and 30 minutes from my house... and wait a second... who the HELL does he think he is?!! The best part? There was a sign on the register that said... Refunds will CHEERFULLY be given with a receipt and proper ID Really?! I pointed the sign out to him and he got quiet. I proceeded to share some expletives with my husband on my cell on the drive home. Then made myself feel better by calling the mans district manager and tattling on him. So there! Put that in your pipe and smoke it!
