I always imagined getting married and living in a large old house with banisters to slide down , beautiful flower gardens, sunshine, grandkids, spending time with friends and family. I live in a ranch house in the midwest away from most of my family. The soil is clay and I have not learned to garden here. I am busy with work, my husband is frequently on the road and my children are not yet married. Somehow those story book items from the books I read as a child did not materialize.
I do have two wonderful sons and a husband who loves me. I have the opportunity to create beautiful things. I am slowly learning how to garden. After living here for 8 years, I am discovering how to cultivate real life as well as online friendships. I am finally beginning to create a life that is satisfying and true to who I am. I do miss family get togethers, but I can travel for them. I can enjoy where I am and discover new things, most likely better than I could have imagined.
