So remember while December Brings the only Christmas day, In the year let there be Christmas
In the things you do and say.
Christmas is not a date. It is a state of mind.
Christmas is not a time not a season,
but a state of mind. To cherish peace
and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy,
is to have the real spirit of Christmas.
I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.
I sometimes think we expect too much of Christmas Day.
We try to crowd into it the long arrears of kindliness and humanity of the whole year. As for me, I like to take my Christmas a little at a time, all through the year. And thus I drift along into the holidays-let them over.
The best of all gifts around any Christmas tree: the presence of a happy family all wrapped up in each other.take me unexpectedly-waking up some
fine morning and suddenly saying to myself:
"Why this is Christmas Day!
A lovely thing about Christmas is that it's
compulsory, like a thunderstorm, and we all go
through it together.
A Christmas candle is a lovely thing;
It makes no noise at all, But softly
gives itself away; While quite
unselfish, it grows small.
Best of all, Christmas means a spirit of love, a time when the love of God and the love of our fellow men should prevail over all hatred and bitterness,
a time when our thoughts and deeds and the spirit of our lives manifest the presence of God.
Christmas is most truly Christmas
when we celebrate it by giving the light of love to those who need it most.
As long as we know in our hearts what Christmas
ought to be, Christmas is.
One of the most glorious messes in the world is
the mess created in the living room on Christmas day.
Don't clean it up too quickly.
