This photo is my dad R. Joseph Heagany III with his dad R. Joseph Heagany II. This was taken at Mullett Lake, Michigan when they were there as a family visiting friends. My dad is about 2 years old in this picture.

This photo hung in the stairwell at my grandparents cottage in Old Mission, MI. It has always been one of my favorites. My grandpa looks so handsome and proud of his lil man.

Looking at this photo now I can see the joy and love my grandpa has for his son. I can see the trust and comfort that my dad finds in his father. I can completely relate to this photo as my daugther Ashleigh is this same age. Looking at my dad here I can see that Ashleigh has his smile.

How cool it is to look at this picture now, and be able to relate to my grandpa not as my grandpa but as another parent, just like me.
