I just had to TRY to do this challenge since Amanda made it sooo easy!! I can't get it quite right, but it could have something to do with starting it at 5 am!!
PS....Now that I am at work staring at this I realize that I FORGOT to actually put her name *Rose Laura* anywhere on the LO!! That's what I get for scrapping when I can't sleep in the wee hours of the morning!!! I'll fix it tonight when I get home. :)
Journaling:
Rosie, Its important for me to make sure that you know exactly where your name came from. Daddy and I didnt make long lists of possible names before you were born. Wed been together long enough that we both just knew the names wed choose for a boy or a girl. It was also important to us that you have a classic name instead of something trendy or unique for the sake of being unique. So lets start at the beginning. On your fathers side you have a Great-Great-Great Grandmother who was named Rose Belle, a Great-Grandmother named Beverly Rose, and a Grandmother named Terri Rose. The name Rose always seemed very special and important to your Great- Grandmother and Daddy and I loved the idea of a family name. Since your first name carries so much family history from your fathers side, it was only fitting to give you my name as your middle name. If you were a boy your name would have been Henry Sean after Daddy, so I thought Rose Laura would be very fitting for a girl. Quite often Ive seen boys to get their fathers middle name and I think it is a good tradition for mothers and daughters too. I also think it honors my side of the family since it is the name that my parents chose for me. My own little touch to this story is two of my most favorite women in history are Laura Ingalls Wilder and her daughter Rose Wilder Lane. I loved the Little House on the Prairie books when I was a young girl (sadly, the television show didnt do the books justice, but thats another life lesson), When I was in college I discovered that Rose Wilder Lane was an author and through her writings I learned more about what strong, independent, and smart women Laura and Rose were. I truly think your name was meant to be. As you grow up, youll find out that your mother has some crazy, romantic notions about things like this. I have a need to find these connections in life.
Also, this is just my version of how we chose your name. As you grow older, ask your Dad to tell you his version, or your Grandma to tell you how she remembered it. I think youll hear some very interesting stories.
OH what a cute face!! Love that you documented this for her and her name really is beautiful!!!

This is so precious. I love the meanings behind the names we give our children. Your daughter will love this.

Great page. Love the way you put her age with the photo! Great story for Rose to read someday!
