Some of the kids who live in the neighborhood of the orphanage I visited in Maceio Brazil in Oct/Nov 2006. The homes, well, they aren't much, if you can imagine rural Brazil. On this day, we just took pics and they posed. One day I took them for ice cream (savetti?) and on another, I had walked down to the local store/one room bakery/one-stop shop and bought a fresh roll. When I saw them, they were like Americano...Americano...I ended up giving one boy my soda, and Leandra (one of the girls) my roll. She divided it up evenly between everyone, while I went back to my room and found something in my suitcase...I had bought snacks for myself, and ended up giving most away. They stole my heart. So giving, without much stuff.
