As a young girl, growing up in Chicago, we had an abundance of fresh lilacs growing in a generous neighbor's yard. So our home in springtime, always smelled soo good b/c of them. The shades of lilac always varied from deep to pale, and there were beautiful white ones as well (but as a child, the lilac color won out). On occasion, we can get fresh lilacs in So. Calf. but the smell isn't nearly as fragrant as the cold weather flowers. Nonetheless, they remind me of home and springtime.
I used Sue Cummings Simply Quick 2 "simply spring" white wordart; Sue's quick page from the Oscraps blog train freebie (the color grabbed me...reminds me of lilacs); I also used Sue's staples and her Summer Camp paint swirl (changed the color from orange to soft lilac); Fei Stuff's "Happiness" wordart; Kim DeSmet's pretty swirl from her Splash kit; and Pea Noodle font.
