Journaling Reads:
There are few things that are more perfect to me than sailing on a bright and windy summers day. I love the smell of the sea (whether its the ocean or a Great Lake), and the wind through my hair. It brings a profound sense of exhilarating freedom that Ive found no where else. I love to sail; its in my blood. And I have my Opa to thank for it. I spent endless childhood summers with Oma and Opa in Charlevoix, Michigan. When we were very small, Opa used to take us out on his sailboat, The Yankee, and when we got older he paid for us to take sailing lessons. I love that he shared that with me; it is a tie and a memory that will always connect us. It has been a while since I last sailed, but the feeling never leaves me. It is something I hope to be able to share with my children when they are older. I would love to own a sailboat one day, and be able to take it out whenever the day is sunny and breezy.
