This is the back of my daughter's babyalbum. I've written the lyrics of a song on it by a Dutch singer: 'Nu dat jij er bent' (which means as much as: 'now that you are here'), by Trijntje Oosterhuis
Translation:
when you look into my eyes
the world seems to stop
the wind stops blowing
the moon is frozen
you shine as bright as the sun
you are perfect, so naked and small
and the world seems to be perfect for a little while
i didn't know that after just one look
i would love you this much
but i don't even know anymore
how i lived without you
for so many essential things
i seemed blind until this moment
and they are suddenly very visible
now that you are here
oh, i hope that i can give you
what you give me
as long as i'll live...
I'll be by your side unconditionally
and I hope that you may someday feel
what I feel now
what I mean
and what I can't properly say with words
when you lay in my arms
and smile at me so content
i seem to forget everything
that waits for me outside
all the battles and all the tears
all the silent pain dissapears
and the world seems to be for a little while
normal
