We drive by this little farm house every Friday on our way to get pizza. It's sad to see it deteriorating. I like thinking that it was filled with lots of life and laughter once.
Process
A solid paper from APP Gadabout was used as the foundation for the page. The image of the abandoned house was converted to black and white. The photo was duplicated. A torn paper filter (foreground set to black, background set to white) was applied, with the blending mode changed to hard light to the duplicated image. The photo was then clipped to a 12x12 clipping mask resized. A textured paper from the kit was clipped to the photo with the blending mode changed to color burn. A textured transfer (from the kit) was added along with the taped texture. The flower cluster was created. Using the skew transformation tool the shape of the houses were changed. Custom shadows were added. The tag with the word excerpts was placed behind the 12x12 page fotoblendz, with the rope from APP Vagary added. The page was completed by adding journaling and splatters.
LOVE love this!! The story how it abandoned, and the techniques you've used to create the layout! I could study it for a long time. When my mother in law would go by a place like this, that needed a lot of work, she would say "I can see pretty all over this", so there was potential to make it inhabitable and well loved again.
I'm somewhat speechless...so well done! Agree with all of the above, I really love that cluster and the colored text...what I most admire is your thinking - I take photos and scrap about them, not much need for original ideas. Your pages are always so fresh and original!
