When I first came to IOWA, or more accurate to say, to the ex- farm old house my husband rented for us by himself, I was completely in shock! We came from Florida, 1 hour drive from Palm Beach and here I am, in the middle of nowhere, just corn
fields and nothing more all around me. The house was old and small and it all looked to me unreal. Our dog loved it of course, but I felt confused and a little scared, after all, I always was a big city kind of girl!
I thought all this moving maybe was a mistake. But with time I got used to the tornados, the solitude, the deer & the skunks in the backyard, the millions of bird crossing by and stopping in our land for a snack...but I didnt know I really loved the place until I was forced to leave it and everything I had behind me. Today, almost 4 years since then, I feel how much I miss IOWA, my life there, IOWA was the only place I felt happy in my life, I felt safe, I felt in peace. But my heart and my trust were broken in IOWA and were left there buried under the corn fields and the soya.
