Week 3 found here: https://oscraps.com/community/threads/july-aj-challenge-week-3-connections.42430/
This week I have chosen to show how and why I am connected to nature (creation).
Several biblical passages highlight the connection between humanity and creation. Genesis 1:27 emphasizes that humans are created in God's image, suggesting a unique relationship with the Creator…. and gives me a feeling of being a part of something bigger than myself! Genesis 2:7 describes God forming humans from dust and breathing life into them, further emphasizing their physical connection to the earth. Additionally, Psalm 104 praises God's creative work and includes humans within the broader context of all creation.
Here's a more detailed look at relevant verses:
- Genesis 1:27: "So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them". This verse highlights that humanity is created in God's likeness, suggesting a unique relationship and connection to the Creator.
- Genesis 2:7: "Then the Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living creature". This verse emphasizes that humans are physically connected to the earth, as they are formed from dust.
- Psalm 104:14: "You cause the grass to grow for the livestock and plants for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food from the earth". This verse acknowledges humanity's dependence on creation for sustenance, showing an interconnectedness between humans and the natural world.
- Romans 1:20: "For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse". This verse suggests that the natural world can point to God's attributes, indicating a connection between creation and the divine.
- Psalm 8:3-6: "When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet". These verses acknowledge humanity's place in the created order, highlighting both their connection to and responsibility within creation.
