Happy 4th of July, Cheryl. You ATC is beautiful and so meaningful. I've lost so many family members in wars, and others injured, so your word art is so very true for me. ♥

Thank you so much, Betty Jo. That's one of my favorite quotes regarding our freedom. We can never forget what sacrifices people have made for our freedom. I have lost an uncle, and had several family members serve in the wars, too. We can't take the freedom they fought for for granted.

Absolutely, Cheryl. I lost an uncle, a cousin died as a prisoner of war, two family members wounded, a distant family member and a close friend lost in Vietnam. I will never forget our freedom hasn't been free.

When we lived in Florida, I was very involved in the Art Community in Ft. Myers. I had a picture of the American flag, taken at night, hanging in an exhibit. This elderly woman (an artist) came up to me - she was walking with the assistance of a cane. She told me a story of when she was a little girl, living in Holland. She started crying and so did I as she told me the story of the day the American soldiers liberated her city from the Nazis. She said the first thing they saw were the huge American flags coming down the street of their village. I'm choking up just writing this. It was one of the highlights of my life.

Such true words as we must not forget our freedom costs. This is such a wonderful little piece of artwork. The blended soldiers image looks great. Thank you for taking part in my ATC challenge.

I'm so happy that you like my ATC, Anne-Marie. What a perfect topic for the July challenge.

Oh, Cheryl, what a heart-touching story. This brought tears to my eyes too. ♥
