our first trip to california driving up the pacific coast highway from san diego to l.a. breakfast in mission beach, coolest beach town ever (were going back there someday) watching the surfers change from their wet-suits into their business suits and driving off to work perfect blue calilfornia skies stopping when the mood strikes seals and pelicans in la jolla window shopping as thats all we could afford to do 2 x 70 (well maybe 50 at the most) air conditioning view after view after view of the pacific ocean a parking ticket at the broken parking meter (that we did put money in by the way!) when we stopped for lunch in oceanside watching the people fish off the pier while we waited for our table at rubys driving through orange county marvelling at the money mmmmm...yummy cafe mocha (decaf of course) and one more walk on a pier more and more industry the closer we got to l.a. realizing we were in compton (yikes, just keeeeeep driving) getting safely to the hilton (thanks to steves expense account) spending a great day together finding places we want to visit again enjoying our last getaway before baby arrives what a fabulous drive what a wonderful way to spend time together what a perfect day
