[*]John 16:33
"I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
This verse acknowledges the reality of earthly struggles while assuring believers that peace can be found in Jesus, who has overcome the world. We will have no real peace without Jesus in our lives.
[*]Ephesians 6:11-16
"Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. ... For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
We must use every piece of the armor of God, including truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the word of God, in our spiritual battle against the devil.
[*]James 4:7
"Submit yourselves, therefore, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
The first step in resisting and defeating the devil having control in our lives is to lose our pride and lean on God for the help we need in the battle.
[*]1 John 3:8
"For this purpose the Son of God was made manifest, to break up the works of the Devil."
The devil’s days are numbered. God already defeated him on the cross.
[*]1 Peter 5:8
"Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour."
