May 25 AJ Challenge Week 1 {FORTITUDE}

  • Media owner pachimac
  • Date added
I have been going through a big change in my parenting life, and I realized that it takes a lot of courage and fortitude to weather the changes that come - especially when they are young adults. Our daughter is 22 and she is navigating life as a young adult, and Mommy is having a hard time letting go and handling the changes that are coming fast and furious.

You "got this" Girl! Your layout is so beautiful and heartfelt. Love all of the journaling and love the "mother" sitting down in the corner. Melissa is just "trying her wings". I'm so happy that you turned this into a beautiful Art Journaling page.

Thank you!! I struggled with this one for a little over 2 days!! It's still not EXACTLY what I pictured in my head, but I got enough of it out!
I truly understand, especially the balance of holding on and letting go. It never seems to get any easier. And my sons are adults now. I'm not sure I could possibly scrap what I feel and see in my head where they are concerned. You did a great job, and your pages are always inspiring to me. ♥

This art journaling page is incredibly moving—visually rich and emotionally resonant. The delicate collage of vintage textures, floral accents, and poignant illustrations beautifully captures the bittersweet reality of parenting through change. The central sketch paired with the words *"Parenting takes fortitude"* and *"You got this"*, speaks volumes about the emotional strength required to let go while still holding space with love. The thoughtful inclusion of “It’s OK not to be OK” and “Life... a balance of holding on & letting go” perfectly encapsulates the vulnerable yet courageous heart of this transition. It’s a heartfelt and honest expression of the quiet strength it takes to release while still being deeply connected. Truly beautiful work.
