Locust Grove is located outside Louisville, Kentucky. The historic grounds are peaceful and far removed from the bustling farm life that thrived late in the 18th century. Clark was the founder of Louisville. He lived the declining years of his life with his sister, Lucy Clark Groghan at Locust Grove.
Locust Grove is a Georgian style home built in 1792. Locust Grove hosted notable figures: James Monroe, Andrew and Rachel Jackson, Merriweather Lewis and William Clark (a brother) and John James Audubon. Pictured-William and Lucy Clark Croghan family tree.
