What, you may be thinking, are all the animals (especially the adorable Highland Coo whose colors don't match the background paper) doing in a holiday letter - I'm using them as placeholders for family pictures in this day and age of web scraping to train AI in facial recognition. This is the annual "redo a LO" challenge for Days of December. Last year I used Anna Aspnes's template from the Oscraps collab "Merry and Bright," so I used it again - just added and rearranged photos and moved a few elements. I also scrapped this in Affinity Photo rather than Photoshop to further explore the limitations of the former. So for practice, I recolored the lace a bit and recolored the "snowflake" tessellation element. My biggest software-related challenges doing this LO were doing the out-of-bounds (had to come up with a pretty nonintuitive way to do it) and resizing the final document to fit the gallery limit of 250 kb.
