The wait for August 28 - the day the offers were being sent that year - was interminable, but it too came to an end. And with it came the good news - the offer of a place to study criminology - exactly what Katie had wanted. Right after Katie had gotten the email, we headed out to do some shopping - among the boring practical stuff like towels and bed sheets, Katie also needed a sturdy pair of boots and an iPad... oh, and a local phone number... In the evening we went to the Pub to celebrate.

With the good news came the shocking - and rather unexpected - news - Katie had forgotten to register for the on-campus accommodation (though not in other uni's she'd applied for, go figure) and we were now facing the issue of securing one. The only thing that was in her favor was that not everyone who'd applied for the course was being offered a place. Having spent a good few hours online, she was able to come across several post-offer cancellations and finally decided on an en-suite bedroom in a four-bedroom apartment.
