Wedding album pp 16-17.jpg

The kids started dancing in the sand after the ceremony and I caught these snaps on my cell phone. Then there was some horsing around on the beach between the groom and his brothers and I snapped that too. I'm now facing a slew of "standing there" portraits--the gazillion photos of different combinations of people--and having a hard time getting excited about working with them. I should be able to get the job done in three spreads, so am hoping for speed and inspiration. Meanwhile, for this spread, I decided to make the most of the beautiful Catskill Mountains in the background, using extension techniques to keep that green aligned (mostly) and moving across the pages

When my niece got married several years ago, I was more excited about certain pictures than she was. Glad I wasn't doing a book for her. Would have been hard to satisfy her and me.

I definitely get it. I try to put myself into the bride/groom shoes, but readily admit I'm using a few heaping cups of artistic license! ;)

One of the things I did with my daughter's wedding album was just had simple pages, as in simple template pages from Blurb, for many guest pages. There were enough of these pages in the book that they didn't seem out of place. On the other hand, it is more fun using artistry...a dilemma! But I had 1000 photos from the photographer and needed a way to deal with them along with family-taken photos. But I love what you've done here - the scenery and textures highlight the fun photos. Love the blue sky and green mountains!

Funny you should mention this--I'm already on that path, eliminating journaling for those pages (and there are way fewer than yours, given your huge photo stash) and doing template work with minimal alteration, choosing templates with interesting shapes to at least keep the sense of format consistent. Almost through with the portraits, I am happy to say...onward to the toasts, the lunch, and the cleanup! Definitely will be done by Christmas, for gifting along with the annual fam vacation album.

Congrats to the newly married couple. Wishing them all the joy in the universe. Love how the blue ties the photos together and adds a such a lovely bucolic touch.
