Embrace Week 2

I didn't know where this was going to take me when I started this layout - and here it is.
Kind of a hard one to make.
Cheryl's layout style HERE was my inspiration.

On the alpha, I used the magic wand tool to select and delete the black outline. I clipped a solid paper to it, and set the blending mode to translucent.

Oh Amy!!!!! :sad1::heartpumppink::hug2: Your photos are SO precious. I can only imagine how hard this was to scrap. You have made a beautiful tribute to your mom and all the love and care you gave her. Such beautiful photos and Ike in there with her. I love the embrace in the background. The quotes all around are so perfect. I know it was hard, but your love flows from the photos. I love the flowers and how they wind up and around the photos.I love the strip of purple down the side for Alzheimers.

Amy, this is wonderful! I can feel the love here and I know your mom felt it too. The quotes and notes all around are so special. One of them just reached out and grabbed me--"Don't bother they said, she won't remember anything." That is a terrible outlook on caring for someone with Alzheimers. Just know that even though her memory was gone, your mom could feel your loving care. This page is truly a labor of love. Yes, it was difficult to scrap, but I hope you found some healing in the process. Take care :heartpumpred:

Oh, Amy.... Your layout brought me to tears, so much meaning, feeling and love in this page. Your photos are precious and it's so wonderful to see and feel all the love your Mom both received and gave, it's tangible on your layout. I like how you interspersed quotes and your thoughts, the one that resonated with me was, "I wish I knew then what I know now", how often I've felt that. But we go with what we have then and try our best and I truly think our Moms knew that on some level. At the very least it's what they'd expect of us, because from where else did we learn that? I love your soft blending and everything on this page. Hard to create, but important to feel and express... Thank you so much for making and sharing it. Love to you, dear friend... :heartpumppink: :beatingheart: :heartpumpred:

Amy, your layout is so beautiful, and such a lovely tribute to your mother. I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'm sure this wasn't easy to make, but you did an awesome job. It's obvious from these wonderful photos that you loved each other dearly. I love your journaling, composition, and torn paper edges against the purple background. ♥

Oh, Amy, you just gave me the chills. I'm SO honored that my layout was an inspiration to you! When I first saw yours, I was so drawn to all the blending you did. Wonderful, wonderful page!!:heartpumpred::heartpumpred::heartpumpred:

I can't add much to what everyone else is saying except "DITTO"! I watched and lived through my mother in law's descent into alzheimers and it's an insidious disease.
