Played & experimented with creating a dark background using ArtPlay Apothic Collection(available until October 30, 2024 at 9am EST)and Autumn ValuePack No2(Special deal available month of October 2024) I have noticed that on different computers my background will show darker & the orange & dark grey pumpkins do not show well in the background. my process: Layered a pumpkin print paper between 2 different grey & black papers. Blending with blending modes & masking. Added a fotoblendz with my photo & recoloured stains. Created a cluster with wordart and elements. Completed with journaling.
Your idea if beautiful - the contrast between the dark and the photo of the sunrise... blending is magical indeed. Such photos are difficult to scrap, and dark backgrounds are tricky. I didn't initially see the pumpkin in the foreground, I thought it was some texture you added. On my computer it appears grey and the background is pitch-black.
Oh, I finally see the foreground pumpkin...well that's weird. But now that I see it I can't stop seeing it - which is good, because it adds so much to the composition. Lovely photo and great elements surrounding it.

Thanks and glad you can see what I was trying to achieve with the background. I created on a different computer screen than I usually work on & the background is quite a bit lighter. It's a mystery to me but a new computer and screen are in my future.
