P3 #2 - SO Creative - HOME

Paraphrased journaling: Ron grew up in a simple country home without many modern-day amenities. He couldn’t wait to leave home and move to the big city of Tulsa. I also couldn’t wait to leave home and lived in several apartments and even a trailer house for a while. I bought my first home before I met Ron, we married and moved to the house on the hill in Catoosa. The only decent photo I have is after the 1993 tornado destroyed most of the houses in the neighborhood. We built our forever home and moved there in 1995. And then we started a 2nd house April, 2022; a smaller ADU for any future needs that might arise.
Credits list
ArtPlay Palette Abrazo (SP3)
ArtPlay Mini Palette Relic (slide frame)
ArchiTextures 7-4 (house brush)
Abrazo Artsy Transfers 2
MultiMedia Birds 1-5 (brown birds)
Hygge WordART Mix 1 (wood word HOME)
Quote – from Anna’s Prompt email
Easy Torn Edges Template 3-5 (shadow only)

Abrazo SP3 was placed for the foundation. One photo was clipped to the slide mask. Extracted Ron from a photo and added the house brush behind him. Catoosa photo was masked and blended using brushes. The bottom photo was edited in Topaz, then PS Filter Find Edges and was still in color. When I clipped it to the Easy Torn Edges shadow, it produced this cool B&W effect that I really liked. Next, I felt it needed something in the blank space on the left side. I settled on the Abrazo AT 3, rearranging, recoloring, or rotating the layers, removing some layers. The result was a continuation of the blue and textures from the left side and that big beautiful ‘sun’ magically appeared, coincidentally exactly to the east, where the sun actually rises behind the houses. Embellished with birds, word art and quote. Finished with journaling.

What fabulous perspectives! You fit a lot of history on a page! I love Ron standing on the roof, the perspective of the hill, the sketch at the bottom! Oh and the torn edge! I am envious of those doing this project, but I'm better at doing my everyday thing. Looking forward to more!

You did a fabulous job with the journaling and photos! Love the forever home!

Glad this became fun and you found your groove--it's an important story. I know what going up against the "shoulds" is like...and I'm already thinking that my 2025 thing is going to be to break every rule that I can. I'm loving your highlighting of the "firsts."

Thanks so much Diane! I know what you mean about missing out. I am struggling, but once I get rolling, I know I'll enjoy it.

Thanks Laura! I break the rules all the time, I just don't usually realize it. LOL!
